It was narrated that Hanzalah al-Usaydi said:
Abu Bakr met me and said: How are you, O Hanzalah? I said: Hanzalah has become a hypocrite. He said: Subhaan Allaah! What are you saying? I said: When we are with the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) he reminds us of the Fire and the Garden until it is as if we are seeing them with our own eyes, but when we depart from the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), we attend to our wives and children and businesses, and we forget a great deal. Abu Bakr said: By Allaah, we experience something similar. Abu Bakr and I went and entered upon the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and I said: Hanzalah has become a hypocrite, O Messenger of Allaah. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Why is that?” I said: O Messenger of Allaah, when we are with you, you remind us of the Fire and the Garden until it is as if we are seeing them with our own eyes, but when we depart from you, we attend to our wives and children and businesses, and we forget a great deal.
The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “By the One in Whose hand is my soul, if you continued as you are when you are with me, and continued to remember (Paradise and Hell), the angels would shake hands with you in your homes and on the streets. But, O Hanzalah, there is a time for this and a time for that” (he said it) three times.

Indeed. Durbah Rocks. I miss a lot. As every moment passes Durbah progresses, and as Durbhah progresses the void in my heart for being far away from it, increases the flood in the eyes of heart. May Allah subhanahu wataaala bless Durbah with more progress towards the betterment in Aakhira and accept all their deeds and forgive their shortcomings. Aameen.

Wouldn’t it make sense to thus surround yourselves with friends who constantly
remember that day of Judgment so we will forget even forget ourselves?
At the same time know “there is a time for this and a time for that”.
We need to develop families who tend to ‘the Garden’, pull weeds that waste space, that destroy the beauty a Muslim should display.
Right now, we do care when we see our faults, our shortcomings, but there will come a time where all we care about it is our ultimate relief from Yaum ul Hisaab.
Allah states in Surah Ma’idah 5.4 is Innalllaha Sareea-Al Hisaab, describing how ‘Indeed , Allah is swift in taking His creation to account and recompensing them’.
Abbasa 34-37
On the day when a man flees from his brother
And from his mother and his father,
And from his wife and his children.
Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others.
Right now, we can tend to our ‘check list’. May Allah Azza Wa jal give us tawfeek to clear our paths’.
