A word or two are far too many,
In a world filled with insincerity.
Heavy on the heart and light on the tongue,
An easy slip causes a difficult fall.
Now the silence resonates the message clearly;
So do not attempt to dare utter a word to me.
Have mercy on yourself, and the Angel shadowing you,
For a word or two can damage the heart so easily.
Yet what is uttered is uttered and the doors have finally been sealed,
And now silence resonates the message clearly.
If only a whisper passed by my ear then:
“wake up, wake up, you are living in an illusion”
“wake up, wake up! you are being led astray”
“WAKE UP, WAKE UP! you are drowning deeper and deeper”
I heard nothing and saw nothing, I just kept on dreaming.
Before, Blinded and deafened,
Betrayed and deceived
Now, enlightened and content, and has forgiven.
Encompassed with regret, I run to him alone.
I seek his forgiveness and his mercy I hope for.
I now believe:
That special word will be reserved for the One
not given cheaply to the undeserving.
A word or two are far too many…too dear to the heart to be given wastefully.
Now the silence resonates the message clearly;
So my final words to you:
(Silence)
It was related on the authority of Abu Sa’id Sa’d bin Malik bin Sinan al-Khudri, radiyallahu ‘anhu, that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, said:
“There should be neither harming nor reciprocating harm.”
Abu Hurairah, radiyallahu ‘anhu, reported that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, said:
“Do not be envious of one another…..A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim. He neither oppresses him nor humiliates him nor looks down upon him. Piety is here – and he pointed to his chest three times. It is evil enough for a Muslim to hold his brother Muslim in contempt. All things of a Muslim are inviolable for another Muslim: his blood, his property and his honour.”
From Anas, radiyallahu ‘anhu, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, say:
“Allah the Almighty has said: ‘O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me, and hope in Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds in the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I shall forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with an earthful of sins and were you then to face Me, without having associated anything with Me, I shall grant you an earthful of pardon.’”
[Recorded by Al-Tirmidhi, who said that it is a good and sound hadith]

AssalmuAlaikum
MashAllah thank you for sharing this. It holds a deep meaning on many levels.
This poem really hit close to home..
subhanAllah…powerful and deep. may Allah protect our hearts and our tongues our hayaa and our honor. i love this for its blunt passion and utter truth. this is how writing should be..
what i got out of this was this:
you can lower your gaze and yet still speak volumes..the gateway to the heart is not just through the eyes, but also though the tongue..
we should always ask for Allah’s guidance..Ya Rabb… : ) : /
mA, beautifully written.
There is a lot to be understood from this poem. May Allah forgive us for our sins
thats deep
Also, if these are the manners with the people of the same gender and of the opposite gender, then what then about our words and thoughts with Allah?
Why don’t we worry about that ?
We should always think the utter Best of HIm and speak to him in the best of ways, and always fear ur thoughts since even when we don’t utter the, He knows what we think..
we should have haya with our thoughts as well..
Anytime we think ‘bad’ think ‘I am NOT going there!
I love my Rabb and I shall dare not go there…
I love my Rabb…
Mashallah… it’s so beautiful and heart-touching. it’s true and really deeply and the meaning is clear; but there’s anohter thing to be said about the tongue. we must command the good and forbid the evil (in a sensible manner), so in some cases, silence couold be taken for consent to sin. eg, people suffering, treated unjustly but no-one speaks out to stop it… however, in general, be war yof eevry word and thought. gove dawah, dhikr ect, for your otnue cna lead to jannah/jahannam. act on what u do teach others though…
the word of Allah, His majestic speech, is the Quran; our light and guidance. the hadith were spread by chains of narration (shaba told each other, then next generation, next till it came to us), jhutbah;s, lectures, simple words of kindness or warning hold so much power. they can bring people into/ out of this deen (only Allah has the power of putting the lihgt of faith in the hearts of those he pleases, but this in in a general sense) For example, a Muslim bro/sis swears abuse, and a passer by in the street thinking of reverting to islam changes their mind, thinking tghat all muslims are this dis-respectful…
spread goodness or remain silent, and beware of gossip, backbiting, slander ect.. stick to quran and sunnah; the qurna changed lives through hearing it (speech). Prophet (s.a.w) had his whole life, Risalah, recording exactly (hadith), every single word taken on by his folowers.. one wirgn word would lead billions astray, yet his ahve chjanged liveds in indescribable ways. think upon this
jazakallahkhairun for posting this, may allah bless u and increase you inshallah.
try doing hifz, give khutbah’s or simething; if u go schooll or colledge ect teach others about dnagers of the tongue; i think they’ll benefit.
salaams, rur sis in islam…
