Applications Open for Durbah Sisters’ Hifdh Program 2011

UPDATE: We are no longer accepting applications. Jazakumallahu khayran for all applicants who applied. We will be reviewing them and sending out acceptances within the next few days.

As salaam alaikum wa rahmatullah.

Alhamdulillah, almost a year has passed since Durbah launched its Sisters’ Hifdh Program. During the past year we were blessed to have many students join our program, and many have benefitted as well. Students have memorized anything from one juz to five ajizaa. It is and continues to be a struggle for all of us to memorize the Quran but sharing this experience with others in the program makes it sweet. Now, we would like you all to join us on our journey to memorize Quran. Applications are open for 2011!

To sign up, go to: Durbah Sisters’ Hifdh Signup

We at the Sisters’ Hifdh Program give you the resources and support to help you in memorizing the Quran. We offer tajweed classes for proper recitation and one-on-one time with a teacher. Teachers record students’ progress and help them formulate plans and strategies for their hifdh and review progress, so you’re not on this journey alone. We offer something truly unique, but don’t take our word for it. See what our students are saying about the program below.

Reflections From “Darkness to Light” (Part 1)

Bismillah walhumdulillah wasSalaatu wasSalaamu ‘ala Rasoolillah

Alhumdulillah, last weekend we were blessed with the opportunity to study with Shaykh Waleed Basyouni for the first half of Darkness to Light: Doctrines of Faith IV — and what a ride it was. Shaykh Waleed’s extensive knowledge and insight into the subject, plus the details and strategies on practical implementation of this knowledge, was an eye-opening lesson. Everyone is psyched for when Shaykh Yasir Qadhi comes for weekend 2!

We will be compiling reflections from students on the seminar. If you have one to add, please email Administration@durbah.org. You can even keep it anonymous if you like.

This is the first part in this series.  To see the other parts, click below:

So here we go… read the submissions after the break, and prepare to reminisce and reflect :)
