Our goal is to please Allah azzawajal and inspire you all to go and learn proper tajweed.

Anyone interested in participating please sign up at http://durbah.org/sisters/ We encourage all sisters to participate! Remember, you are an example to the sisters who might not know tajweed. Imagine the reward for inspiring just one sister to go and learn proper tajweed. SubhanAllah!

…Oh and did I mention there’s a prize?

ILMRUSH CARD 2010!!!
For You, a Thousand Times Over

Never again will humanity be blessed with such a teacher. Never again will we be given a more sacred text as that which he recited. His values changed the very course of history. His teachings are still in practice, now, more than ever. He taught others to be patient during calamities and desire hardship in this world. He prayed for those who hurt him, he cried for those whom he never saw, and forgave even the worst of enemies. His companions respected him, his family waited for him, his followers longed for him, and we are filled with love for him. How did an orphan, a simple man who did not know how to read or write, rise to a rank as that of the Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him?

A true awakening in which lives were changed, miracles were witnessed, battles were fought, and blood was shed. No group has been able to reclaim such noble status or any portion of it. Within a quarter of a century he managed to leave the world completely transformed. No one has ever been sent to such ignorant of people as those whom the Prophet, Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him, was sent to after which he brought them up, morally, spiritually, and physically. No man ever breathed such a new life affecting all branches of human activity as did Muhammad, PBUH. This April, Qabeelat Tayybah invites you to study an unparalleled legacy of an epic hero, whose legacy spans across the East and West, North and South. Prepare yourself for the most sacred journey of all!

Passing Moments

The most comprehensive advice I have read, after that of the Prophet (sallalahu Alayhi wasallam), was advice that my friend was given by her 8th grade teacher. Here it is, an emblem of wisdom and keepsake to say the least.

“Our existance only concens three things: Allah swt, you and the grave. All other things are minute details. High school, college, and life in general are passing moments. The most important thing for you is to ALWAYS BE CONNECTED to Allah swt. Don’t worry about the outcomes; they are not in your hands. So do not get caught up in things that are fleeting. You must always remember Allah swt because there is so much nonsense in this dunya to get caught up in. Just keep making du’a for safety and success because in the end…all of our lives will seem like one useless second that has passed by.  So don’t worry; always ask Allah swt to pick and choose for you. Always pray Istikharah for guidance and clarity. Don’t do or say anything that will lower you. Always speak the truth, but be careful, it must be the right time. Leave some portion of the night for du’a and seeking divine assistance. Be consistent and doors will be opened for you. Do not have ANYTHING in your heart against anyone and people will respect you. Always smile, but in a dignified way. Always help others, as long as it does not hurt you. Your life is your capitol, so spend it wisely. Remember that you are now where it is the best time and place for you to be because Allah swt has planned it this way. May Allah swt always accept our du’as and give us what is best for us. Ameen. “

Strife

Palestinian…I am Palestinian

I carved it on all the fronts

With bold handwriting rising above all the headlines

My name follows me, lives with me, and nurtures me

It ignites the fire in my soul and pulses through my veins

The caves of mountains know me

I did my best then asked the nation to be

Salah Aldin is calling from deep inside me

All my arab identity calls for revenge and freedom

And my flags that were folded up on the hills of Heteen

And the voice of Muadhin Al Aqsa alarmed, calling for help

And thousands and thousands of prisoners

And calling on the nation and chanting

Telling them: To Al-Quds

To a war denouncing oppression and destroying Zionism

Raising Palestinian flags to the skies

And repeating my words

Palestinian…Palestinian…Palestinian

This poem was written by a Palestinian girl and the video can be seen on youtube. Powerful rhetoric can move mountains, if only it could move the hearts of oppressors.

Description of the Righteous

Their speech is truthful; their clothing is moderate; and they walk with utmost humility.

(Imam Ali)
