Sr. Maryam Rabee'a:            Sr. Maryam converted to Islam in 1991 and since then has strived to gain knowledge in various Islamic sciences. Of them is the science of Tajweed. She began her studies through self-study of the book called Easy Tajweed. Then, she was able to study Tajweed with Sheykh Muhammad AlShareef with a class offered by American Open University distance learning program. While she continued to study on her own, she also corrected some of her Tajweed briefly with a Sheykh who had an Ijaza in all 10 Qira'ats while she lived in Virginia during an Arabic language program. Also, through the American International University, with Sheykh Hossam El-Rafa, Sister Maryam currently is in her first semester of her Ijaza program for memorization and Tajweed correction program.   Sr. Sumara Khan:            Sister Sumara was able to gain extensive knowledge in the science of Tajweed through her travel to Syria. While staying for 2 years, she studied both the Arabic language and Tajweed with various sheykhaat. She has continued her studies while in America and alhamdulillah, she has recently earned her Ijaaza in Tajweed in the Qiraa'a of Hafs 'an 'Asim.
